Well done good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25: 21a
Just what we all want to hear! This certainly applies to Mariam. She is about her work at SJUT very early, daybreak, every morning. She always has a smile. She is one of the many women who sweep the dirt paths each day.. removing the leaves, flowers and sticks that fall each day/night. When I asked the reason,…snakes. AAAAh best reason I know! The area around the homes and all paths a swept, one to discourage snakes and two so you could see one if it was in the path!

Since we are in the rainy season, the grass is growing quite quickly. Men and women both cut the grass by hand with a long sharp bent tool which they swing back and forth rapidly. Looks like a long lawnmower blade with a serrated end. It smells wonderful and as I was walking back to the house one morning the grass was flying in the wind. Tried to catch that on my tiny camera!
